The Story

I love music. I listen to it 24/7. I absolutely admire musicians that are able to write heartfelt songs. It is genuinely a superpower, because nothing expresses emotions the way music does. For now, writing music is not a skill that is in my possession. Maybe one day it will...but! I probably know the lyrics of over a 1000 songs by heart by now. To me a good lyric is everything. I always get super excited when I find a song that expresses how I feel or how I felt at some point in my life. That's why - if you've ever watched my insta stories, you noticed that - I always lip sync, or when I go the extra mile, cover a song. It's my way to communicate. It's my way to send a message, - easily - coz you know, when I really make an effort, I do these projects, that is let's say, the "non-easy" way.

Anyhow! Maybe I don't know much about songwriting, but poetry is its neighbour. It's all about self-expression through words. I had this idea to take most emotions (a song at some point has been written about) and express them in poetry. It's a good challenge, and at some point everyone can relate. For now I'm the only one working on these projects, so I'm using myself, to recall and to reflect on these feelings. Initially I wanted to write a (long) poem for each emotion with a plain background. However, I had to adjust the challenge to my schedule, so over time the long poem shifted to short "punchy" rhyming lines supported by an image that I take and photoshop. It's my own visual spin on it. Hope you'll like it. :)

The reason why I'm writing from 3rd person view is because I don't want to identify with these emotions. I think about them as waves. They come and go and might express themselves through me but they're not me. In my poems I'm just describing how the girl (who happens to be me) is feeling in that particular moment, but she does not define me. I wanna keep the identity of myself separate from my emotions.
